Do you think that I'll be able to successfully complete this course (https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2011/MAST10012) without ever having learnt Methods? I do have Methods 1/2 under my belt but I've never actually completed these units. I did a couple of weeks of Methods in year 11 but I dropped it because the teacher was atrocious (racist). We then struck a deal that if I dropped from his class without filing a complaint that he'd give me an S for both units of Methods and that's that.

Anyway do you think I'll be able to do this course without ever touching Methods? I have a simple mathematical background, having achieved a 43 study score in Further Mathematics last year.

Please note that by successfully, I mean that I want to complete this course while averaging high distinctions.

Thank you. ^_^

You should be fine.  Just go through some Methods 1/2 basics over the break though, because leaving it till the start of semester will make it very difficult to cover the content in such a short time.

Better still, just start working from the Methods 3/4 textbook now, because it is what you will be doing in the subject.
I'd recommend Maths Quest for explanations/theory and Essentials for questions/problems. :)

If you want an H1, then you need to do 1/2 in the break. Problem with these classes is they cover a lot of stuff very fast, because they're trying to get you up to standard. I tried to tutor a girl through it and she had trouble with it, make sure you're on top of it.

It says this:
Prerequisites:
Successful completion of VCE Mathematical Methods 1/2 or equivalent

I am in a similar situation you are, dropping out of methods midway through unit 2. Am I still eligible to get into the subject?
