What modules to study this year?

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS! :D

Now! Ive been having a dilemma on which modules to study for this year in furthur 3/4. I'm pretty sure ill be studying Module 2 (Geometry and Trigonometry) and Module 3 (Graphs and relations). I just need help choosing my third module! Personal experiences or advice about which module you found easiest would be great! :D

Also, I'm doing Methods and Specialist (both 1/2 units), and was wondering if any of the stuff in 1/2 methods and spesh, relate to any of the modules in unit 3/4 futhur maths. thanks

I know that if you did AGM (Advanced General Math) the arithmetic and geometric sequences helped with the Number Patterns module which I found really easy without doing AGM.

Can't remember if you cover Matrices in unit 1&2 Methods (Probability) but the Matrices module is also amazingly easy and it can work hand in hand with Methods' Matrices/Probability.

i did the same modules (geo/trig and graphs/relations) with the addition of matrices
imo matrices was the easiest module out of all 3 of them
and yes matrices is related to methods so it could help abit

ohh cool, i might just do the same as you modules 2,3,6 but i think my school covers 1,2,3 during the year. Is it a risk to do 2,3,6 even though methods may cover parts of matrices?

At my school we don't get a choice on what modules to study as we are made to do 4,5 & 6 but when I did unit one methods, we kind of went over some of the stuff in module 5 (Networks and Decision Mathematics)

Matrices is easy :) - especially if you're a methods student

In GMA last year, I got 100% on every SAC except only 80% on the matrices test.
I hate matrices.

+1. If your doing methods, then the matrices module is really only one chapter. The first two are basic matrices operations which are covered in methods and the third one is new...about transition matrices.

I would highly recommend sticking to what your school sets on your behalf. Teachers will be able to help you out a lot better with the modules they're teaching. If your school does not set any modules on your behalf (which I highly doubt), you should probably pick matrices as it's an 'easier' module that ties in well with the other Maths subjects.

I'm doing Geometry and Trigonometry, Graphs and Relations and Business Maths. :)

Transition matrices are still covered in methods I believe.

Yeah, it's best to just do what your school does. It's a lot more work to teach yourself another module and then organise notes for it. However, business maths was my favourite module, doesn't require much thinking but rather good calculator use.

hmm.. i must've not done them. In the end it doesn't really matter which ones you choose as long as you put the effort in, you will do good. But if you want to a have a statistically better chance, choose the most popular modules like geometry. that way, if you get an iffy or hard question, theres a better chance that alot of kids made the same mistake :P
