UoM - Preference list and Enrolling Queries!

If any could help me here, much appreciated:

1) I'm applying for BCom at melbourne but for my preferences i have Chancelors Program commerce as 1 and Commerce as 2 (both for UoM). My atar isn't 99.90 but a few points below. Its etremely doubtful i'll get into the scholars program but ive left it as a first preference with fingers crossed. By having commerce (normal) as my 2nd pref, will i be overlooked and be offered only second round if i don't get Chanceloers (which i'm unlikely to get), or will they automatically offer my Bcom for my first round, even though it is techincally listed as 2? Will i have to change the order then?

2) I intend to be overseas from the 24th of Jan onwards until a couple of days before O week. Can any UoM Bcom students who did first yr this yr let me know what dates i must be at Uom for registration etc., will i be missing out on any compulsory requirements during this period (please let me know in relevance to your experience)?

Cheers x

1.  If you don't get your first preference because you didn't meet the academic requirements, then yor second preference will be looked at.  And if you've met all the pre-requisites and achieved over the Clearly-In, then you'll get that offer.  If not, if you have a third preference, then that will be looked at etc.  For more info, here would be a good read.

2.  The essential part of enrolment is doing the online enrolment to accept your offer.  So provided you have someone to receive your enrolment package which will arrive a couple of days (at the latest) after Round 1 offers are released, then you should be able to accept your offer anywhere in the world provided you have an Internet connection.

Some courses will have "compulsory" info sessions and the like, but they're not really "compulsory"...  In fact, nothing at uni is compulsory...  And that's absolutely nothing.
