I am having a really blonde moment right now, but I need to understand this  8)

Newton's third law postulates that every action has an equal and opposite reaction, so suppose I exerted a force against the wall for example, i know that it will exert an opposing force on me, but how come it does not move?

tbh i don't think the textbook explains it properly lols stupid Newton's third law :\

hope you can help!

When you push on a wall, there are 2 action-reaction pairs:

1. The wall and you
2. The ground and the wall

This second action-reaction pair prevents the wall from moving as the Earth is exerting a force back onto the wall.

Hope that helps.

EDIT: there is actually 3----> the ground and you is another one.
