How much times harder/easier is uni-chem in comparison to VCE-chem?
How much effort (in percent) would you distribute between the two?

I'm not sure you could differentiate which was harder, because it may be quite subjective.

I have heard that the workload for uni subjects is much less than that of VCE, though.

Unichem is leaps and bounds less workload than VCE chem. Additionally, you aren't aiming to beat anyone, so perfection is not needed and help and support from your classmates is encouraged.

However, the concepts explored in unichem are a lot further in detail than VCE chem. LUCKILY, a lot of the very complex content is explored in very small doses so you don't need to worry about not being able to cope.

tldr; don't worry about the difficulty, it is very easy to get by, and with a one day cram sesh before the exam great things can happen :P

How many times a week/for how many hours do you have to rock up to uni chem lectures/tutorials for? Also what times are the classes normally held?

The school I did it at (padua) held them 4.00-5.30pm on a wednesday night. We also have 3 prac days per semester. Also, there are web tests that count for 20% of the total score for the semester, and they are once a week.

So is there only one class/lecture-type thing every week?

Not too sure, although I highly doubt it. Unlike the unimaths you don't need to have any prereq studies apart from chem 3/4 in year 12, and everyoe that applied from my school got in...some with reports as low as a C+/B average...

Just the lecture notes produced by monash. There's a textbook prescribed as well, but hardly anyone buys it and it's really not necessary.
