Hi guys,

What is the difference between these words?

Open class words, closed class words, content words, function words.

Are open class words also content words? Kinda confused :/

Thanks!! :)

Open class words= nouns, adjectives, verbs
Closed class= prepositions, interjections, pronouns

Difference= open class words can be changed, e.g. the word room can be changed to darkroom through composition.
closed class words cannot be changed e.g. the word she cannot be changed to darkshe

Content words are open class words while Function words are closed class

Need anymore help just ask?
