Has anyone else still not heard anything about their application for on-campus accommodation?
Starting to get a little worried now!

When did you apply? And which accommodation did you apply for? The Halls of Residence or the NRAS Halls (the two new ones)?

And you haven't heard from either, via phone or email?

Call Monash Residential Services immediately. You should have got an offer for NRAS a week after you put the application in (they offered them on a first come, first serve basis as long as you were eligible), and I'm pretty sure the offers for Halls should have gone out in December (that's when I got mine last year anyway).

I received an offer in December. Maybe you should call and check up on it.

Mannix - gross :P Unless you're physically incapable of making your own food, NRAS is a way better option. The rooms at Mannix are literally identical in size to most of the rooms at Halls, they just come with a sink. For a couple of hundred dollars less a week, you get a room almost double the size with your own kitchen and bathroom! http://mrs.monash.edu.au/nras/prototype.html

Oh I thought NRAS was for certain applicants with a disadvantage in some area? Are they the newly built residential halls?
NRAS rooms look so mint.

You (just you, not your parents), have to be earning less than $44k a year. That's it. It's just to stop post-graduates/part-time students who have full time jobs from staying there. Apart from that there are no restrictions.

Amazing. I moved from Tassie last year to study at Monash and have literally made hundreds of friends at Halls, not only in my own but in all of the others as well. Best decision I ever made :)

One of the reasons why moving out in uni is the right decision.

Definitely. Which Hall did you preference as your number one? I'd still suggest applying for NRAS if you can afford it (apps are still open), just because having your own bathroom is a godsend.

Put either Farrer or Howitt.
I am actually incapable of cooking as of now, so I think Mannix is the best option for me.
However in later years I will definitely look into NRAS! Thanks for letting me know :)
