Arts subject query

In the 'welcome to Arts' book it says that you are required to complete 4 subjects a semester, 8 subjects per year.

I had 8 subjects ticked in the selection stage and it said that I exceeded the maximum number of credit points required, so I unchecked 2 and that left me with 6.

I literally have no idea what I'm doing.
