What is the assessment/ coursework in commerce like?

I know that science it's mainly:
-tests: multiple choice, short answers
-prac reports
-exams: usually MC, SA, application...


How about commerce..say marketing or economics?

also...do you know what you normally do in the tutorials?

1) Sometimes may have online MCQ questions.
2) Assignment have a heavy weighting.
3) Some subjects have participation marks in tutes - especially for management + marketing.

Yeah this.  And in higher years, mid semester tests have a pretty big weighting.  For example, Business Finance in semester 1 last year had 25% mid semester test, 15% for two assignments and the remaining 60% is the exam.  So basically, screw up the mid semester, and you've got an uphill battle on the horizon.

They're designed to test your knowledge on what has been taught so far in the subject.  So you can almost think of it as a take home SAC...  Sort of.  They're usually not group work unless if it's for Organisational Behaviour but you are allowed to work in a group.  Just be careful on collusion.
