what does IRC stand for
Internet Relay Chat. ATARNotes has #atarnotes which is an IRC channel where we talk and stuff.

Easy way: Use the chat link on AN to connect to it.
Alternatively: Use an IRC client to connect to FreeNode and join #atarnotes

Do you like the beatles? :)

Burnout is going to be more prominent now because of the lack of mid years now isn't it? Now it's all concentrated on the one period so people are probably going to feel the pinch then.

Good on you stick, people need to take more initiatives like that. I might do the same too, but then again, a lot of people at school couldn't give a damn if they didn't go well either so they probably might not burnout.

If anyone lives near 3195 and ever feels burn out or very stressed, we can play some video games at my place :)

Just a shout-out (one-off) before I make my own ad on this site.

I will be tutoring Chemistry and Mathematical Methods next year. I start in early January as well. Have a few students, would love a few more. Price will depend on if you come to me, or if I come to you. PM me if interested.

Thanks guys:)

I dunno about the burnout re midyears. It will be interesting. I know I would have probably done better across the board with no mid-year.

Interesting, a lot of people say the opposite. They say that the mid year could be like a "wake up call" for them to improve and perform better at the end of the year.

This time you only have one chance. So if you don't take it serious enough, you don't have a second chance.

You guys have to consider that very few have mid-year exams originally anyway.

If you use the holidays throughout next year appropriately (not like me and work through them all day), you'll feel recharged.

Yeah, I'd only have 2 mid years chem and accounting. But I'd say it's even the experience under the 'examination room' that people feel is useful.

i had two mid years this year. day after an other . it was hefty , but an invaluable experience.
thats one of the reasons i didnt choose to do accounting 3/4, my teacher said they changed it a lot , but there's a lot of information and with chem , it would be too hard to handle with only one exam.
But 60% of your study score, its win it or lose it.
i wonder how im going to feel the day before the chem exam next .

Thing is, everyone is in the same playing field so I think it evens out a little bit. Perhaps there is more memory involved, but that would make the "better" student shine. But with subjects like chem, it is worrying for me too. They should introduce cheat sheets for chem.  ;D

I am officially considering dropping out of it.
I was amazing at accounting, but did bad on my unit 2 exam, never got a mark like that in accounting before, and with the changing study design, loss of motivation and longer exam, I don't even know how i'm going to cope.

My top preference will hopefully be Commerce/Aerospace Engineering at Monash - fingers crossed that happens!

Exam durations are going to kill me  :'( Hope the temperatures don't sky rocket earlier next year. No way I can concentrate if it's above 28 I think (quite precise haha).

Do you guys have air/con in your exam rooms? Our hall where we do our big exams like English and Further doesn't. Come to think of it, neither do any of the other schools. That's what I get for going to an 80 year old school I guess.  :P

I thought I did really well in my unit 2 exam but I completely stuffed it up as well. But I think I can pick it up again. My SAC scores were okay though, had a few great ones and a few shockers.

I knew I didn't do well on mine (there's so much to do on bought exams!), was a bit of a breakdown moment, though they do say, it's better to have them in year 11 rather than year 12.
My SAC scores were really good, but I don't even know what my motivation is in the subject.
