By the way, your list is having the reverse effect on me - now I feel bad for not doing enough. :P

LOL. Nah, I just didn't do 1/2 English and only had Year 10 for me to fall back on. So I wanted to make sure I had all grounds covered when school started. It really helped me to feel that I was not behind when I started. But definitely, if I had known WHAT A TR WAS, it would definitely have helped me.

For anyone who's all like "oh no english blabla" I'll mark all your essays and stuff (planning a thread) and was toying with the idea of sporadic English days at Monash Library or something like that to boost productivity and motivation levels and stuff.

Same. I am going to mark any essays from the texts and context I studied. And am in the process of writing a "HOW TO CREATIVE CONTEXT" as I think I need to help out the kids that do this (and they have a lot of freedom to do so) because there aren't many so write solely creative.

Sounds great, brenden! :) I must say, the 2011/2012 cohorts have been really generous (well, to me personally) with offering help and I'm so glad we have this support network in place going into Year 12. I can only hope we will pay the favour forward at the end of next year. :)

And I'm calm! I don't know how to tell you people that I'm not worrying for once! What do I have to do? :P

We are the best:)

Uhh...not stress about the homework you have. Do the English shiz for LEISURE. It will help you so much I'm not even kidding. Make yourself fall in love with a character and devote your time just to finding out what happens to them. I don't know. Something like that.

Changed my signature. Hopefully everyone gets the picture now.

Disclaimer: It comes down December 16 in light of the upcoming results. It may or may not be restored after that.

Its telling me a mixed message...(i could write an LA on it...) the text and colour juxtapose themselves to mirror the atmosphere of confusion instilled in the writer.

Read more into the subtext and it might convey a sense of frustration that the author was not able to effectively communicate his message beforehand. :)

I started to ENJOY English and its concepts. So when I went on holiday to the beach, I would take a book with me when I wasn't swimming. Or while I was watching the cricket (in the ad breaks) I would read/write essays.
I also had a tutor that pushed me to get through a lot of work to make up for Year 11.
I hated the book, but throughly enjoyed my context. I liked the issue that we got and felt strongly about it. I'm the kind of person when I enjoy something I'll do more of it. I'm a debater as well and so LA's were my thing. I like to see how the author is manipulating me. Recognising it makes me feel....all-powerful

I'd rather get it over and done with now and then spend the rest of the holidays relaxing in order to be more rested when Year 12 starts. My first SAC (with the exception of the English oral) isn't until March so I can do that with confidence. :)

It's always better to do home work when you're in the correct mood anyway.

I don't think I need a strict holiday plan anymore, I'm starting to feel like doing a little bit, esspecially english because it does kinda look enjoyable (amiallroit?).

So imma be like stick and start doing a little now. Definitely going to read GUAIA twice before school. I see no point in doing too many practice essays before school because I won't have my teachers assistance and advice (although AN would come to the rescue I feel guilty not putting anything in but getting stuff out).

(Hey guys, I'm Brenden).

Nisha -> Creative thread sounds like a great idea. I'll add to it if I can but I think you'll probably have it covered. Although, we use different styles I think so I might be able to add some stuff.
