Subject selection :S

So I called up 13MELB and they were like you don't need to fill in the "Majors" component of the online subject enrolment right now (apparently that can be done later on) or something so we could just leave it blank for now...But I'm still a bit confused and was wondering could someone pretty please check up my subject selection? I'm worried that I've put subs in the wrong place or something (I'm doing a Bachelor of Arts btw) :-\

Later on I plan to major in Psychology and English&Theatre Studies, which is why I chose them as my level 1 subjects - is that the right thing to do?? Sorry but I'm so confused! :-\

Any help would be appreciated and Thanks soooooo much in advance:D
2011: English | Methods | Psychology | Health & Human Development | Legal Studies | Texts & Traditions
2012: B.A. (Psychology) @ UniMelb
2015-16: Master of Teaching (Secondary: Psychology/Health) @ UniMelb
2017- Teaching Psych & HHD :D

Happy to help out with; Health & HD(48), Psych(48), Qs about UniMelb Psych or MTeach courses :D

Yes that's fine. Why are you doing two Arts Foundations out of interest (and because I think there may be better options)?.

Thanks soooo much for the reply! :D

and I think I just chose 2 Arts Foundations because I wasn't sure what was meant by "Arts Discipline Subjects"? Does it mean we can choose any unit from any random discipline in Arts? Could you give an example of an Arts Discipline subject? :-\ Sorry I'm such a lostcase when it comes to uni! :( Haha, but is there any disadvantage in doing 2 arts foundation subs??

To the best of my understanding, you only need one 'Arts Fpundation' subject (any of those big six) and then the other Arts Discipline Subject can come from anywhere within Arts. It'd be a good move to do a Linguistics subject there if you are still thinking about it, which means your decision to major could be made within second year and not first. Arts Foundation subjects tend to be disliked by Arts students - they also don't count towards any major, really.

Have a look in the UoM handbook for information on prerequisites and what subjects you need to complete across the 3 levels in order to major in something. In your third year, you will have to do a specified amount of units in a particular discipline within your degree - these are Level 3 subjects. In order to enrol in these subjects, you need to have done the prerequisites from Level 2, and in order to do these, you need to have done the prerequisites from Level 1. A lot of majors have less stringent requirements and prerequisites, so come third year you may be able to qualify for a lot of majors even if you didn't do relevant subjects in first and second year - because it has minimal prerequisites.
