Basically it's linguistics Vs italian

I got the same study score for english language and italian, but i know linguistics is more broad than english language.

My brother did italian, but he said it's pretty hard in uni, then again he's pretty lazy lol.

Has anyone done a language in uni, what was it like? I was pretty bad at the listening component of the exam, is that a component in uni?

I study German at university and it involves listening, oral, reading, and writing components. However, such assessments are quite spread out over the course of the semester so if you work consistently they shouldn't be unmanageable. There is also a cultural side to the subject (this may be the same for Italian but I can't be certain). If you really enjoy studying languages, I would give it a go for semester. It's not for everyone though.

Italian is quite full-on post-VCE. I've had a few friends do it (while I did beginners Italian), and you have to commit a lot of time to it. The largest assessment was organising and performing a play in small groups, and they had to meet often outside of class time to do this. They also had to produce short films, and write essays etc., however, there was no exam. If you want a breadth in which you don't have to do a lot outside of class, I would suggest not picking post-VCE italian.
Maybe try another language at beginner's level? If you've done Italian, Spanish would be very easy for you.

If i were to do italian i guess i'd just have to organise myself properly, but i can always just teach myself it though. Hmm.. tough decisions.
