2012 Semester One Timetable Thread

Timetabling starts on 30th January and this is the thread to discuss timetables!
Anyways here are a few tips I got from tram to get you started:
my general advice about timtabling:

1) Put your tutes early in the week. You cover last week's materiel in tutorials and it's better to get one topic out of the way before getting too into new material otherwise you're trying to learn lots of stuff constantly.

2) Don't cram all your subs together, spread them out during the day, this means you are at uni for longe each day. This is what you want, you want breaks in between classes to hang with new people you met in the previous tute/lecture, and time to chill and catch up with old friends. Also if you can get an hour free before each tut-always handy to catch up on any tute work you were meant to do during the week. Also free time gives you time to go to consults.

3) Make sure you make sure you have time to get form class to class-the uni campus is quite big and running across it is not fun early in the morning with a bag, look at a map of the uni when doing your timetable
Obviously I followed none of these tips but here's what my timetable will probably look like:

So how is everyone going about their timetabling adventures?

Last year, my brother managed to compress his entire 1st semester BArts Lecture/Tutorial timetable into 3 days.

Hoping to do something similar, I looked up the University Timetable and the first thing I noticed was :

Calculus 2
-------------------------
Lecture 1 - Monday
Lecture 2 - Wednesday
Lecture 3 - Friday

Introductory Microeconomics
------------------------------------
Lecture 1 - Tuesday
Lecture 2 - Thursday

If you want to wag lectures, put them all in the morning so you can sleep in and rock up for tutes in the afternoon :)

Probably not good advice but oh well.

You can comfortably break all three of those rules if it makes it easier, I certainly never worried about 1 or 3 and only rarely about 2.

you want to go uni for all 5 days!!!!???

edit: btw what app did you use to make your timetable?? it looks prettyyy

also is it better to make it so that you concentrate on only 1 subject per day???  or better to mix it up and clump lectures into one day, tutorials into another day etc.

Very often, especially for popular subjects. That's why it's important to get in early
The Finnish word pilkunnussija, which translates literally to “comma fucker,” is someone who risks his social wellbeing to annoyingly and persistently point out punctuation errors.

Thanks for that, i'm just confused about one thing. i need to attend weekly classes for my lectures and tutorials but for pracs its only " 6 x three hours of practical activities during semester".

But looking at the timetable, pracs run every week with 8 repeats a week. So do i just pick one of these classes, attend for 6 weeks and just stop going to them after that?
