Medicine at Melbourne Uni

I was just wondering about the "Doctor of Medicine" they are offering at Melbourne Uni. I know that you have to do the GAMSAT and before all that you are supposed to do the "Bachelor of Science." Is there any other way to do medicine without doing the GAMSAT?

If you achieve an ATAR of 99.90+ you won't be required to sit the GAMSAT.

Edit: There is still an interview requirement. Also, GPA requirement if you get below 99.90 but above 99.00 but I think these are for full fee places (double check this, I'm not 100% sure if I remember correctly). Also, Biomed is another option for undergrad study.

Yeah well if that does not happen I have to do the GAMSAT right?

Yes.  The only other hope is to get into JCU or Griffith in QLD for undergrad.  They don't use UMAT.

AFAIK, there isn't a uni in Australia that doesn't use GAMSAT for post grad medicine.

I don't know.  It really depends.  I think it is much easier than the UMAT, but that is just my opinion.

Yeah, preferably science or biomed at melbourne.  You need to complete second year biochem, physiology and anatomy to be able to apply for post grad med.  You can still go to other unis and do these subjects, but they need to be approved by Melbourne Uni and the process looks like a pain in the ass tbh.

Well it looks like that's the path I am taking
