Hey guys I have a couple of questions with regards to VCE Psychology..

The school assigned me the task of Reading Chapter 2 - States of Consciousness as holiday homework but the Study design shows that States of consciousness will be assessed in Area of Study 3.. so I'm kinda confused

Also do we need to know Chapter 1 - Research Methods? if so how much knowledge do we need to know about research methods?

States Of Consciousness is in UNIT 3. It will be on the Unit 3 Exam mid-year. So you'll be on the right track reading Chapter 2.

Also do we need to know Chapter 1 - Research Methods? if so how much knowledge do we need to know about research methods?

You'll need a strong understanding of Research Methods.

yeah when i did psych, our school made us study chapter 2-states of consciousness first and then research methods. Research methods will be incorporated with the topics you study such as states of consciousness, sleep etc. and in unit 4 as well-so study hard!! haha
also, since section C of the exam (extended response) can either be an essay-like question or an ERA type (requires you to write up part of an ERA), its important that you understand research methods and know how to apply them to different experiments/scenarios.
GOOD LUCK!!
