hi i'm just wodnering does UoM send our concession cards/mykis to our mailbox automatically without us having to do anything???

From my own past experience. I recall signing up for a tertiary student myki and concession the very day that I got my ID made in Wilson Hall. If you were already a UniMelb Student last year, they send you a new concession card (with printed photo) in the mail a month before your old one expires for which you need to go to the customer service people at a train station (ie. north melbourne) to finalise/"activate" it.

There wasn't any information about signing up for that when i went to get my ID made :/ maybe they changed the process?

also What do you mean by "finalise"??

If you are already a student at UniMelb, they send you a form with your details already filled in for you with your photo. You bring it to the station, hand it in and pay for it so that they can give you a concession card. Alternatively you could ask for a blank form at the station and fill one out (providing a passport sized photo) by yourself.

If the process has changed. You can always go to the customer service area at the station and ask them for a form for a tertiary concession myki. You shouldn't be charged any money for it. It should be free to sign up for a tertiary myki if you're a full time studying student.

I know that for Monash you can get your pre-filled form off of WES, then go to the station, pay e.t.c. UoM may have changed the process to the same way as Monash, i.e. it might be somewhere on the Student Portal, don't take that as it is, just saying it might be.

i got mine in the mail like 2 days ago. last year, i went to the student centre because they didnt mail mine and they print off yoru application with your unimelb photo on it anyway. you jsut sign and give it to the nearest train station office and pay.

This is probably a stupid question, but as a continuing student how do you get your hands on a new student ID? Mine says it expires on the 29th...

I got one for free when I pickedup my concession card yesterday. Just had to pay $9 for the concession card itself.

its a top up myki with nothing on it...theres no half yearly or yearly tertiary mykis afaik. (i couldnt get one lat year)
