Ahoy! Apologies in advance/feel free to whip me if this has already been posted, addressed, etc

Does anyone know how the textbooks work at Monash? Are we given a booklist or..? And do most people (hello past students and non jaffys) bring their textbooks with them everyday or just leave them at home? Sorry I'm quite clueless as you can tell! TIA!

Your book list can be found in the Monash Portal homepage under the quick links section -> view my book list.

Normally, people wouldn't bring a textbook to uni, it's more for extra referencing when you're studying at home. Generally, people bring lecture notes and paper to take notes on in lectures. Also, if you have gaps and require the textbook, just hit it up in the library.

It's also probably a good idea to make sure the book that your lecturer advises you to buy is the same as on the booklist, so I'd hold out until then. You've always got the opportunity of borrowing from the library before this point, so I don't think there's much of a hurry (Unless there are second hand book sales and stuff which may have low supply)
