Experimenter Effect and Experimenter Bias.

Are they actually the same thing? My TSFX notes say Experimenter Effect can sometimes be called Experimenter Bias but my teacher says they are different things. I don't know how good my teacher actually is because I haven't done unit 1/2.

As far as I know Experimenter bias is an experimenter effect ,(experimenter bias is a subset of experimenter effects)

Experimenter effect is when the researcher subconsciously acts differently around each experimental group because they're anticipating their behaviour, which then causes the participants to respond differently than they normally would.

Experimenter bias is when the researcher notes in particular the behaviour that the participants exhibit which are concordant with what he thinks they will do. So basically he interprets the results to support his hypothesis.

They can both be removed by a double blind experiment
