For anyone who is doing MM CAS, what are parameters and how do you know when to use them in an equation?
Essentials doesnt explain it well...can somebody upload the section of their book that does explain it?

Thanks

'transformation from y = ƒ(x) to y = Aƒ(n(x + b)) + c, where, A, n, b and c ∈ R, and ƒ is one of the functions specifi ed above and the relation between the graph of the original function and the graph of the transformed function (including families of transformed functions for a single transformation parameter)' quoted from the SD

A transformation parameter is simply just one of those variables A, n, b and c ∈ R
A single transformation parameter performs one transformation... it's just the fancy name for it.

As for actual parameterising one variable against another and setting free variables and etc~ there is a little bit on that in specialist, more in uni maths.

I think the question meant textbooks are $c each and other books were $d each... but now that I re-read it, I agree with your interpretations.
