AGRI10039 Australia in the Wine World

Hi everyone,

I was thinking about doing AGRI10039 Australia in the Wine World (it's the Dookie Campus btw) as a breadth this June

So I got a quick little question. The teaching period for this subject is a 1 week intensive thing that runs from 24 ‐ 29 June.
So.. assuming I do Wine this June, AND another 4 subjects in Semester 2, would I have to apply for an overload? (afaik Five 12.5 subjects equals to an overload)
I'm asking this since in the Academic Calender there doesnt seem to be any 'winter semester'.. so I'm thinking this subject would count as a Semester 2 subject? So confusing..

Apparently we have to reserve our place before enrolling.. I hope there's still slots left for me :O Anyone here done it before? abit of advice would be nice :)

Thanks in advance!

haha, the subject that every single uni student considers taking at some point. It's the most failed subject across the entire uni. I've had mixed reviews, some love it, others hate it, one thing is true, you will be well and truly sick of wine by the end of the week haha-also it's not exactly a huge piss up, you have to spit the wine haha.

Also it has some assessment that lags over into the semester after the break.

It's pretty intensive, can be interesting, can be boring. Take it if you're prepared to work intensively for a period and want an extra space in your study plan.

Ah, haha I see.
Was under the impression it was going to be a pushover
Also thought I'd get to be pissed up the whole week  :P

Guess I really should reconsider, lol

Thanks a bunch :)

I'll probably keep looking around for some decent breadths...

I would like to set something straight; This subject IS NOT the most failed subject across the entire uni, in fact this subject in 2014 had a higher than average H1 rate and a very low fail rate (less than 2%). The rest is mostly true, some people love this subject (most) and a few hate it (particularly if you dont like wine). It is not a sip and giggle class, yes you have to learn stuff, but that knoweldge will stay with you. It is VERY intensive for the whole week. No time for anything but the subject, but it does completly free you up during semester for concentrating on harder subjects.

It is counted as being part of Semester 2, so you will need to speak to your Student Centre to request an overload waiver.

Uhhh this thread is 3 years old so I don't think OP would be requesting overloads anymore  :P

H1 rate is 31% (don't quote me on that, but I'm fairly certain that was the number). Definitely an easy subject. Thank God somebody actually pointed that out for once

Hey Guys, In the AGRI10039 handbook, it says that there is a slot available in February (self enrolling ends on 2nd Feb), however when I go to my Study Plan and try and select a slot for this subject, the only available classes are in June and July. I am not allowed to have alcohol or meat during May to July approx. Would you be able to let me know what I could do please?

Don't think they allow you to do intensive/summer subjects when you're a new student.

1. Does AGRI10039 June slot occur before the Exams?

2. If it does, does it count as Semester one subject or Semester two?

3. Is this a pass/fail subject or do you get a specific percentage for this?

If I remember correctly it is after exams.
Semester two subject.
Specific percentage.
