What percentage of the people from the BBiomed course end up getting into the MD?

Well, I got a Biomedicine Next Steps brochure during o-week and it sounds pretty positive -
Quote
The first cohort of Biomedicine graduates had a 92% success rate of being accepted into a graduate study program of their choice
Quote
Of the 2011 domestic UoM graduates accepted into the Doctor of Medicine program, more than 70% were Biomedicine graduates

I'd be wary with the 2nd quote there Stick, notice that it says 70% of UoM graduates, not 70% of those applied.

In reality, there are only 2 degrees which allow entry into MD at UoM, BSc and BBioMed, so BBioMed taking 70% out of those two isn't as spectacular as it sounds. Furthermore, I think only around 50% taken in were from UoM. So in reality, only about 35% of all students accepted were BBioMed graduates.

:S That seems far more realistic.

I can find the actual numbers if you want, because I have them written down somewhere, but there are about 30-40% in the cohort from Biomed (and maybe 5% from Science). The total from UoM was somewhere around 50%.

It's kinda hard to say what percentage get in, because a large amount of people don't want to apply for medicine or would preference another university first, which makes it kinda hard to estimate.

I'm interested in seeing the numbers if it's not too much hassle Russ. Cheers.
