The thread you can come to, if you want something answered easily and simply. But don't want to start a whole new thread.

I'll start: Run me through how the energy systems would contribute in a 140 metre sprint.

Well I'll let you figure out the answer, but basically this is the template to use when answering an energy system interplay question. Things to mention:

  • the fact that at the beginning of any event, all three energy systems are providing energy for ATP resynthesis
  • the dominant energy system for the event, while also mentioning the other system's contributions. The dominance of a particular system must be referenced to the duration and intensity of the event
  • the 'fuels' that are used by each system (glucose, PC, etc), and to what extent they are used during the event (their duration of use)
  • the duration that each energy system is dominant for, and the time where the system is at peak power
  • whether or not there are rest periods in the event, to allow for PC replenishment, lactic acid removal, etc
  • for extra brownie points mention the fatiguing by-products being produced by each system, and their impact on ATP production

Mention those things, and possibly a couple more things that I forgot, and you should be right. Just apply those points to the event in the question and you should have said enough. If I missed anything or if you don't agree, well you're wrong. Naa just kidding, just tell me what else I missed and I'll add it in.
Hope that helps a little.
