Those are the most important links for the DipMus, including the application form (last one). And it's almost completely practical, I think, except for a few compulsory theory electives which sound really intersting anyway.

hi, im new to this...i wanted to ask if students can learn a new musical instrument at melb uni??

Not really. The diploma requires you to have a rather high prior knowledge base (grade 7 AMEB standard or equivalent)

However, there are some subjects in which it would be possible for you to learn a musical instrument such as the guitar as part of a group.
