since its the holidays, i really want to prepare for my mid years. Just wondering if making notes would be a waste of time as chem is more formulaic then theory OO

How to do well in Chem from ISTAFA (Chem 50, ATAR 99.95)

Have you read this?

Making notes is different for everyone! They do help some people though. I think it's good to have notes for chemistry simply because Heinemann (don't know what textbook you use) can add in a bunch of stuff that isn't really necessary.

Also, there is a lot of theory in chem (esp. unit 4), in fact, you can only really 'understand' the calculations you're doing if you know the theory really well.

Make dotpointed notes. Type/write them. Then look at them and pretend you have some really stupid kid in your bedroom, and you have to educate them on chemistry Unit 3. Pretend they ask you questions-act like their teacher. The act of teaching will help sustain the information in your mind rather than writing pages and pages of notes.
