u basically get invited if u are a high achiever academically, i dont think there is a fee and pretty sure its worth joining i mean on ur resume i guess it says something since its invite only.

seems that gk is a joke in aus.. just write "invited to golden key society" on the resume if you want that one line you gain out of joining.

That's a really good idea.

Yeah got that letter in the mail too. $95 bucks for a line on the CV is pretty steep imo. But I think I'll join anyway just in case employers are looking at potential employees through the GK list? (dunno if this is true lol..)

I just signed up - I would take heed of the guy who said "you get as much as you put in".  Word is, if you join up, and then actually make something of it instead of waiting around for them to do something for you, then it's worth it.

yes obviously it would be worth it - though you basically force yourself to commit after paying that amount of money. like I spend 2-3 days in uni and work all other times..mehhh

good luck, grab those opportunities to go for overseas conferences and stuff! then write a trip report here hehe :)

I was on the gk exec in 2010 and ended up getting a free trip to the international conference in the us. It was definitely worth it for me but most members do nothing and don't get any value from it whatsoever.
