Doing assorted science/maths subjects, I've been going OK, but my laziness is certainly not helping me.
PHS1011: Been getting reasonably high marks for the online MasteringPhysics modules, prac marks are also decent, and a decent mark for the written problem set. Mid-semester test is first day back after the Easter break, so that'll probably give me the clearest indication of how I'm faring. Probably a HD average so far.
CHM1011: They give us multiple attempts at the Moodle tests and WileyPLUS assignments (paraphrasing lecturer Chris Thompson, "The multiple choice questions have 4 alternatives. We give you 3 attempts. If we made it any easier, everyone would get 100%!"). So, I've been going alright in that so far, the pracs have been reasonable (no more writing lab reports as in previous years, instead, print out a proforma, and fill it out). Probably a HD average.
BIO1011: You generally get two attempts at each of the MasteringBio modules, so it's not too hard to get decent marks, they also provide you with online tutorials and stuff to go with the assessed questions. Tests are actually timed (30 minutes for 20 MC questions), but are generally quite reasonable. I haven't done as well on pracs, due to my own laziness, and as I type this, my draft Bio essay is 2 days and 4 hours overdue (therefore, a reduction of 0.75 marks of my final unit score), so probably a very low HD average.
MTH1035: Only had one piece of assessment so far - a 'Project' based on vectors in cubes. I did terribly on that, because I missed the lecture where they practically gave you the key ideas in doing it, and never caught up (lesson learnt!), and so, will probably get between 60-70%. I'm still aiming for a HD though (that being said, I'd better start doing the weekly problem sets, and workshop/tutorial material if I intend to get anywhere near that aim).
