Best Dorms at Clayton?

I'm intending to move into the dorms next year.

I would like to know if anyone could give me some advice as to which residence hall I should choose. For one I do not like quiet atmospheres. I rather be around a lot of people and a dorm which is lively. So which dorm parties the most lol? Also, are some dorms like primarily based with certain groups of people - for example international students, interstate students etc.

Thanks.

First of all, all halls party like hell.

Mannix hall is a catholic hall, a tad more expensive, but you get looked after [cooked meals, etc]. It is not near the other halls though.

The other four are more 'pov', but all next to each other. As far as I know (friends at halls), life there has been described as 'surviving on roasted almonds and beer'. Take that how you will.

[btw, Mannix also have an honesty board, where you have to write down the names of anyone who stayed over. Not good for picking up.]

You don't have to go to a hall to PARTAY! It's just more convenient.

Probably. It is a Catholic College, after all.

I have a friend who goes to Mannix. Apparently once every fortnight or so everyone has to get dressed up in formal clothes, wear academic gowns and gather all together for a formal dinner, complete with speeches and unspecified entertainment. In his words ... "just like in Harry Potter".

I'D TOTALLY GO MANNIX JUST FOR THE HARRY POTTER DINNERS

I don't know. Tradition sounds nice enough and stuff, but how can you get anything done if you're always off to formal dinners?

well they probably don't do anything else exciting, so they'd have plenty of time on their hands

If you don't count parties as exciting.. sure :P

Residential halls are known for their extremely social lifestyle

It's not so much parties as spontaneous drinking.

Ewww, Monash :P

I do have a friend doing Med at Monash though who stays at one of the halls (it's a self-catered one, not sure of its name). Judging by what he tells me and the facebook photos that pop up, I'd say it's a pretty social place ;)
