How hard is it to manage a 40 raw in spesh? Is it equivalent to a 40 in Methods or much more difficult?

Cheers :)

Hey, I got a 40 raw in spesh last year (and a 46 methods) :) I'd say its way harder to get a 40 raw in spesh than a 46 in methods. In terms of homework in maths, I probably did 90% spesh and 10% methods (even in practice exams)!

I had A+ SACs (did not get scaled at all), A+ Exam 1 (I think I got full marks) and A Exam 2 (thought I would get higher, but meh) :)

I had a bad exam 1, did some really stupid things, but think I did quite well on exam 2. GA were SACS: A+, Exam 1: B+, Exam 2: A+ to end up with a 41. Before the exams I wouldn't have expected to get above 40 with any B's so I guess it was a high B+ with exam 2 saving me :)

40 in spesh is gettable, but bear in mind that you are competing against the toughest cohort going around.
My gut feel tells me that a 40 raw in spesh has the same degree of difficulty as a 99 ATAR and a 50 in Spesh has the same degree of difficulty as a 99.9 ATAR.
That's what you are dealing with

Thanks! Awesome scores man. Wish I had got that high for methods, only got a 40 raw; hence my question. I was hoping for it to be on par with methods but can't really expect that from spesh.

Is it imperative to have A+ SACS? I did horribly on one (B+), in comparison to the rest of the cohort. Would a mid-range ranking and two borderline A+s still reach that coveted 40 score?  :)

DW mate, a 38 in spec scales up to 50 lol. I too hope to get a 40, but if I got a 36/37/38 I wouldn't be crying :P.
