Heinemann textbok questions=waste of time?

I've been told that the textbook questions are useless and don't resemble/help with the exam type questions and that i should just use my time to do exam questions from study guides instead. What do you guys think? Worth doing the textbook questions? I've done some but kinda stopped...

I think they're pretty good for reinforcing your understanding of concepts. But in terms of exam-style questions and revision, not great at all.

Textbook questions provide an excellent foundation to your knowledge on a topic and are designed to progress in difficulty. Definately do them, it will help broaden your knowledge of the specific topic. Especisally Heinamein, it is the best textbook with the best questions that I have looked through so far.

The exam-style questions assume you know the basics and the textbook questions would give you that foundations.

I agree, the review questions help solidify what you learnt in the chapter.

do them they're great for building the foundations for the basics, will definitley help you when you attempt exam questions. they're good practice too!

I'll go against the trend and say that I never did a single question from the 3/4 book and still got a 40+ SS raw

I think doing practice exams or questions from NEAP or something are far better revision, but I seem out-numbered here haha

The case study style questions from the textbook are quite good, because they often require you to apply new information to questions in a style similar to the exam :p

But as the above said, you can get away with not doing any of the questions. If you can't be bothered doing all of them, just pick out some which to you look difficult or long winded.

I have difficulty doing them.. I'm starting to study late for Chem since I had a surgery and missed the whole of term 1. I thought they were pretty hard.. I'm up to Chapter 5 of Heineman book. Should I just do questions from Checkpoints or continue doing Heineman
