MUSIC SOLO PERFORMANCE

I am keen on doing Music Solo Performance and am at a high grade of AMEB piano. However, my teacher has said that VCE Music Performance is very hard especially the written assignments. Can someone please throw some light on what it involves before I decide to do the subject. Please let me know the hard bits or am I better off taking another academic subject like Accounting or Bus Man.

Music perf is an awesome subject. Can't really say if its hard or easy, because firstly, that heavily depends upon your attitude towards the subject as well as your musical ability. Secondly, the way music perf is approached by each school varies quite a bit. At my school, written assignments weren't really a big deal. We mostly concentrated on the SACs - as there were multiple parts to them including aural, theory, tech work etc, as well as an analysis of the tech work we played.
I would encourage you to take it on - I did quite an academic yr 12 program, and music certainly took off the pressure as it was such a different subject to do. The value of having a 'different' subject in yr 12 cannot be underestimated - I think this reason alone outweighs the 'risk' of doing a subjective, creative subject. At the end of it all anyway, the practical examiners are pretty fair - as long as you are convincing with your performance, you'll do fine.
Don't let a fear of written assignments deter you. Its music performance - that is what really matters.

Could you also let me know if Music Investigation is an easier subject compared to Music Performance as my Performing skills are very good, but my theory is not very good.

I wouldn't do Music Investigation if I were you. There is more resources for Music Performance if you needed them as Music Perf has been around for much longer than music investigation. I'm not too familiar with the study design of music investigation, but I'm pretty sure that there is a smaller performance aspect (which wouldn't suit you) and a larger emphasis put on composition.
If you are a comfortable performer, do music performance. Performing is something that can't be taught properly - theory can always be worked on and improved!

dont take music invest. my friend did it last year and she totally scew up her audition even though she is usually good. cuz for Music invest, performance exam is everything, weighted 80%(i guess, quite a bit as i remeber)? unless u r very confident in performances and really good at ur instrument..

But for music performance, all ur SAC score, performance exam and Written exam all take parts of ur score. so it would be easier.
I did Music performance last year, and i did alright, well it was my best subject in VCE.
If u decide to do it, i really recommend you to play the pieces that no one plays, those unfamiliar one.
