A wine contains 14.0% v/v alcohol. What volume of the cream liqueur contains the same amount of alcohol as a 285 mL glass of beer with an alcohol content of 4.9% v/v?

Answer

a) 14.0 mL

b) 82.1 mL

c) 99.8 mL

d) 989 mL

How do you figure this out? :P

So find out how much alcohol content there is in the beer:
4.9mL alcohol per 100mL beer (that's what 4.9% v/v means)
xmL per 285mL
x = 13.965mL
There's 13.965mL alcohol in the beer

In the wine (I'm assuming creame liqueur is the wine?)
14mL alcohol per 100mL wine
13.965mL per ymL
y = 13.965/14*100 = 99.8mL
There's 13.965mL alcohol in 99.8mL of the wine

You can also just use the formula c1v1 = c2v2 :)
