Social and mental problems of uni students
(1/1)
killer_bot:
hey let's start a thread to discuss the social and mental problems that uni students have?
which uni has the most number of students with the most serious social and mental problems?
which uni do you think has the most number of students with depression, anxiety and self-esteem issues?
why are some so many uom students so damn introverted and self-centred?
which uni has the most number of lazy students?
and what about those tafe students how did they get there in the first place?
what excuse does one have for getting <50 ATAR and not getting to uni. what sortof emotional/personal problems must these people have? are they simply dilinquents? how did they become like this (dilinquents)?
why do so many uni students go to uni just to go to lectures and pracs without socialising? why are they so unsocial? you can't have too many friends right?
further more, does anybody notice any difference in the type of student some is by the university they go to?
if you go to the city, wouldyou be able to point out randomly and correctly which are deakin uni students and which are monash students?
or between vic uni students and unimelb students?
and what about those students from go8 unis who will aim 95+ in assessment tasks and do just about anything to get into medicine...
let's discuss all these peoples problems from selfish self-centred perfectionists to lazy disruptive tafe students...
why do so many students have so many problems?
it's no surprise that the suicide rate for young people is so high in australia relative to older people.
what can we about this?

Is this thread for real? It comes across as really condescending and outright offensive. And why are you comparing across universities? Yes, there may be institutional problems, but it seems bad to make this a competition. Mental health is a sensitive issue.
Edit: Sorry if this came across as too harsh. A guy in my year (and there are only about 1000 of us) was found dead in the physics lab two days ago after an apparent suicide. It's so tragic, but mental health is so nuanced. Things like that can't be reduced to just what an institution creates.

This is just plain bizarre quite frankly...
Why would you even want to know something like this is what i'm wondering :/
I can't really understand whats going on in your head when you try link specific uni's and mental health problems. It's not like UoM makes everyone who goes there "damn introverted and self-centered" . It's got pretty much nothing to do with the specific university, a lot of these people had problems before going to university and those that didn't probably would of developed them anyway regardless if they went to UoM or Monash.
It seems like you're drawing one big huge character and trying to sum up the whole measure of a person and their mind in terms of which university they just happen to go to...
People are people regardless of what you stereotype them or what university they go to... why does it matter if someone got under 50 or not...
Mental health issues like this are very serious and its near impossible to draw exaggerated caricatures and stereotypes of whole *human beings* especially just because they didnt do as well as others in vce or go to swinburne :/
