Thin layer chromatography

In analysing analgesiscs like paracetamol, why is that water can not be used as the solvent?

Thin-layer relies on the separation of the compounds and in order for this to happen they must be soluble in the eluent, since paracetamol is generally non polar you cannot use water as the solvent.
