How difficult is it to get above 50/50/50? Or above 90tg percentile?
What sort of scores (on average) do you need to be considered for an interview?

I was disheartened with my chances at med, but I'm willing to try again and do the umat..give it a shot...never heard of it before this year :/

Appreciate any input

Thanks guys xx

Fairly easy to get 50/50/50 (from my experience), but harder to get 90%ile+. A lot of it is luck on the day imo.

50/50/50 will not get you an interview anywhere although most universities say a minimum of 50 in each section (bond might...). To get 90% + is very difficult and depends on your ability to answer the questions on UMAT. With practice and hard work you could definitely get better at it. I would suggest increasing your vocabulary (section 2 has a lot of questions that require you to be able to distinguish between descriptive words in regards to emotions) and reading a wide range of books. Also try and practice for section 3 you could find a lot of stuff online for that. If you are really serious about medicine and can afford it then I would recommend taking a course for it.

To be considered for an interview i think you would need scores of 70-80s in each section

Good luck! ;)

That was just a suggestion, you could definitely do well without it. Just do the acer booklets multiple times. My friend who got really high just focused on a few questions at a time and then dissected each question afterwards, I think this would be a really good approach to apply. She did this over a few weeks time and then she started timing herself etc.

Make sure you focus on each section because you never know what section may end up being your highest and understand the acer practise booklets the actual test is really similar to that. :)

Nah, not that high. 95%ile+, which is ~65 (or more) in each section actually.

the acer practise booklets the actual test is really similar to that. :)

I don't mean to scare anyone, but I found the ACER tests to be a fair bit easier than the real deal actually :(

well i guess everyone has there own opinion, I found that the practice booklets give you a good feel for what the real test is like. Perhaps the real thing is a little harder but that may be due to the exam conditions and stress you are under or maybe the test is harder? I guess its for each individual to decide.

Some people I know said they found it easier then practice but others said it was harder.

and for the score it is probably ~65 i was just taking a guess based on my friends score who got about 72, 50's, can't remember the third and got 88% she was not considered for an interview.
