ATARnotes, KBT and Neap are the best imo. Insight, Lisachem and STAV are also pretty good :)

Can I digress from the discussion in this topic; as KBT was alluded in this post, I thought it was a decent place to ask if anyone had the solutions to the KBT 2010 trial exam (are we allowed to post solutions up?). I am so sorry if I am breaking any rules (if I am, please disregard my post!).

All KBT in this thread mate :) Practice Exams - Where to get them for free? :D

KBT is fine to upload as it was always free and one of the authors said it was fine :)

My chem teacher is advocating doing a very minimal amount of practice exams, and pretty much following his notes/questions....
I have not done any practice exams so far, but the mid year is coming up in a month and I feel like I should be doing lots of exams already. (only bio molecules left on course to teach)

Is he wrong? Should I start doing practice exams which I can get my hands on online? (I also have Thushan's book with 3 in there)

Leave Thushan's exams near the end, and obviously most of the VCAA exams. Whether you start exams now or not is up to you. I haven't personally started, and many people at my school haven't and my school consistently pulls out at least 2 50's in Chemistry each year so there's really no necessity to start them right now. Most people would probably be aiming to begin them soon.

almost finished your tests man, loving them! seem a bit closer to vcca standard than my teacher's questions...
Thushan how many practice exams did you do for chem exam 1? I did methods last year and finished about 35 full exams, which I think really benefited me. That's why I'm a bit worried that I can't take a similar approach to chem :P

How many prac exams do students aiming C-B have to do?

Also what happens if your school hasn't even gotten up to carbohydrates, fats, etc? We are too behind, and most likely going to finish the course like a week before the exam..

I'm limited on time atm..

My school is about two weeks away from starting biochemistry, so don't worry too much about it. And there's no correlation between the amount of practice exams and the grade range which you're aiming for. You could do 50 practice exams and get a B or do 5 and get an A+. Do as many as you can or do as few as you have time for, don't say to yourself "Oh I only want a C-B so I won't do more than x number of papers."

Hmm yer, you're right. Thanks a lot for the help!

I guess being worried about being behind the state and worried that I won't have enough time to any practice exams (I'm aiming to do 10-15) is really put a heavy stress on me, you're advice is really helpful.

It's not how much exams you finish, but the quality of how you do them (are you looking at your mistakes?), that will get you a better mark in my opinion
