UMAT preparation

Ok so last week I decided that I would sit the UMAT test, as I now want to apply for dentistry at the University of Adelaide. I know many people study months and months before the actual test, so I was wondering, how should I go about it with a short amount of time?
The resources I have will be the 2 practice ones that you can buy off the ACER site, and a NIE practice test. I'm guessing I should leave these till the end, closer to the test date?
Also do all universities require a top 10% performance for the UMAT?
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

Do some now (probs the NIE ones once/twice this week) so that you can see where you need to improve. Although you have a short amount of time, a LOT of improvement in S3 can be done in that time. Check out some of the links in the resources thread and/or check out some MENSA problems for that section :)

So you mean do the same text week after week? Because I only have 1 NIE on :P
Yes, I've been looking through the stickies one bit at a time, lots of resources that you have compiled there, awesome job :)

Woops, my bad haha. Well, I'd do that soon, just to get an idea of how it is and your weakest area, and then do the ACER ones probably with a break of: Test 1 - 7 days - test 2 - 7 days - UMAT exam (real).

Cheers :)

Do you know if there are any stats of people that do dent, med etc, and what % did UMAT prep courses?
So if I do bad on UMAT this year, can I re-do next year and apply for under graduate courses?

i wouldn't be sure about the stats, but yes you can re-do the UMAT and apply for undergraduate and be considered a year 12 student if you take a GAP YEAR. if you begin  a course you can still apply for undergraduate entry at the end of your first year and re-do UMAT that year. However you will be considered a non-year12 and therefore your entry would depend on GPA and UMAT not ATAR. Another point to note here is that there isn't many spots for uni students available, nevertheless you can still try :)

And about studying for the UMAT I personally would recommend that you start the practice booklets now and maybe just leave one of the acer ones for a week b4 the actual test. The other two know inside out, every single question, do it multiple times and alongside try indiabix website for section 3. After this attempt the last acer booklet in proper timed conditions and see how you go ;)

Trust me I left my booklets till the last day and it wasn't good, so from experience I suggest use one of the acer booklets now to study and one to test yourself at the end (but don't leave this too late!).

That would be my approach anyway if i were to do it again, others may think otherwise :)
