Are PET and SPECT scans invasive or non-invasive?

One of my set of notes which I got from a lecture say that they are non-invasive, another set of notes taken from another lecture say they are invasive, and other notes that I got from a student who did psych 3&4 last year say they were mildly invasive as they involve injection of radioactive material.

PET and SPECT are both invasive, since they both involve the injection of radioactive substances.

This means that they 'invade' the body in some way.

PET and SPECT are both invasive, since they both involve the injection of radioactive substances.

This means that they 'invade' the body in some way.
