Can you get marks without showing working out?

Questions in the title :) except for questions where it states "show working" of course, can  you just supply them with the answer?
2011: Biology [35 --->36]

Yeah I would say so, but you have to realise you're totally f'd if you get the answer wrong.

My teacher said as long as you give the correct final answer, they are obliged to give you full marks.
However if said answer was incorrect, then you're shit out of luck.

Depends on the examiner, I know one (taught me in yr11 to my dismay) who would give half marks for an answer without working. Just show all working, it isn't hard to do.
