Sample VCAA exam

Hey everyone,
Less than 48 hours ahhhh!
So I've just done the MC section of the VCAA sample exam, and I'm a bit confused with the information given for questions 24-39.
Specifically, the p-values. Can someone please help me interpret what they mean? I got question 33 wrong - apparently the answer is A. Memory for Group B was significantly more affected than Group A - but I can't get my head around the p-values to understand why this is the case?

Also question 31 the answer is D. the researcher did not know which participants were in the experimental group and which were in the control group, however since the question was asking 'The researcher, Dr Traumer, used a single-blind procedure in this research. For this study it means that:' I thought it would be that the participants didn't know?
Can single-blind mean the experimenter doesn't know which groups participants are in?

Thanks in advance and good luck for the exam! :)

I haven't done the exam you're talking about this so I don't know if this will help or not.
p values are in determining statistical significance, that is, whether the difference in the results obtained for the experimental and control groups in an experiment is a real difference and not due to chance factors. An obtained p value of equal to or less than 0.05 means that there's a 5% chance that the difference between the results of the two conditions was due to chance alone, and a 95% chance that the results are due to the IV and did not happen to chance alone. So if the p value for the experiment was set at equal to or less than 0.05, then the results would be considered statistically significant and the hypothesis would be accepted.

Single-blind procedure can mean either the experimenter or participants are blinded however it's usually the participants hence why the question as used "For this study..."

I got stuck at 33 as well, I did D as my answer since I don't see how there is NO significant difference :s
