Tricks for remembering psych stuff!

For those of you who like the assistance of tricks to help you remember things post away! It can be things like acrostics, acronyms, things that are in alphabetical order etc

For example I remember supression being conscious and repression being unconscious, in that in the letter S is a lower case c! They can sound silly but they do work

I remember the roles of the central executive, which is like a ceo who gets paid a lot, with the acronym PAID
              Problem solving
Directing Attention
              Integrating information from the visuo-spatial sketchpad and phonological loop
              Decision making

FPOT for remembering the order of the 4 lobes.

Front - Parietal - Occipital-Temporal

iPOD for research hypothesis
i = independent variable
P=population
O=operation
D= dependent variable

For suppression and repression I use 'SCRU'.

For neurons:
SAME - Sensory (Afferent), Motor (Efferent)

Brain waves in sleep:
Bitch, All Thugs Die
Beta, Alpha, Theta, Delta... Don't ask me how I came up with it ahahah.

For suppression, I remember that it's conscious in that when you say "sup!" to people you have to be conscious.

Retrograde amnesia - Retro (meaning vintage, think of old information) = loss of memory for info BEFORE trauma
Anterograde amnesia - A for AFTER = inability to form new memories for info AFTER trauma

Proactive interference - P for PREVIOUS information inhibiting encoding/storage of new info
Retroactive interference - R for RECENT information inhibiting retrieval of previously stored information
