What would be the benefits of doing an honours year for an Arts degree? To do with employment opportunities, etc.

Personally I'm aiming to do honours in English/Theatre Studies and International Politics, as these will most likely have been my majors.

Just looking for a very general overview if anyone could help me out. I'm just not exactly sure why anyone would do honours for Arts, aside from the academic opportunity. What differentiates a potential employee or the job opportunities of someone with a basic Arts degree from someone with Arts+Honours?
