Hi :)

I have just looked at the 2013 new study design and compare it with this yr study design. I found that they changed a lot for the wordings so I feel like a lot is gonna changed. But changed a lot?
Thanks.

No it hasn't changed a lot at all. Most of the rewordings looks like it's solely just to clarify things and be a bit more specific about what's in the course and what's not in the course e.g. for NMR they now explicitly state: "application of n+1 rule to simple compounds, excluding coupling constants" (as opposed to just listing 'NMR')

Thank you. But is it safer to buy the new study design book because I have some 2011 chem notes, study guides, checkpoints for chem.

depends how safe you wanna be!
if theres some drastic changes then maybe. if its just the good ol change of pictures, colours, some new amazing fact.. then definitely not!
laseredd said theres not much of a difference so taking his word, i suspect there to be no real changes.
still gotta while though buddy!

I would wait and see what the new edition textbooks look like first and inspect for yourself if it's worth just using a second hand textbook or shelling out the $60 or however much they price it at for the new book.

Also realise that, naturally, the questions they can give you on the exam would change slightly, they'd be able to have content covering both Unit 3/Unit 4 stuff and come up with more interesting stuff that they couldn't before.
