Practice English Exam tomorrow

Tomorrow my school is having a practice English exam which obviously doesn't' count.

Admittedly I haven't done too much study for because of lack of motivation and the school holidays have just started.

I'm just wondering how much should you be writing for each section of the exam.

So they're three sections of the exam. This includes:
1). Text response (My novel is Life of Pi).
2). Context Piece (Based on Crucible Themes)
3). Language Analysis

How much would you be expected to write for each section presuming each section should be covered for an hour each.

Your school is so great! I wish my school would have a trial exam like this :P
In general, you should manage time well because 3 hrs for writing 3 essays is really limited.
You need to choose the most essential ideas for text response, dont take too much, just few but the best one
Context piece: my school doesnt do the same one with yours so I have no idea
Language analysis: follow model technique -> writer's purpose -> effects to audiences

The three AoS of Unit 3 English are synonymous with what we're required to complete during the exam, bar Point of View and a Statement of Intention for Context. So technically we could do the exam now, although most people probably aren't prepared and would have forgotten material from the two AoS they completed first.

This is the school's Year 12 English mid-year exam.

They have internal mid-years for all subjects but they decided to have this one on the holidays >:(

Its good for you because I believe English is more like your ability (imo though) and you can do practice after studying the text, not like science subjects, you have to cover all chapters to do practice exam papers

hmmm... I guess, my point being how strange it is.. Isn't everyone on holidays anyway?
But I definitely know I've forgotten how to write a LA, and can barely write a text response :P

Back on topic, time management would be the key point, have a look over your SACs and review some of your teacher's comments, see specific points where you could improve based on your writing. And in terms of word limits I think 1000ish words is recommended for the exam (correct me if I'm wrong) so try to get as close to that as possible. That said, don't sacrifice your quality of writing to meet the word 'limit'

I don't think it's possible to forget to write a LA because it's not possible to learn how to write one :P It was the one AoS where I genuinely didn't learn anything from classes. And Creating and Presenting is basically just making stuff up that is relevant to your context, whether or not it has to do with the text :P But text response would probably require some revision.

I'd say 800-1000 words per essay would be a good effort for this, and maybe over that for LA.

Surely a LA is the one which is easiest to learn! Chuck in a bunch of sophisticated phrases and cool words and BAM! There's your essay :P

It's the easiest one to write, because anyone can write one completely arbitrarily, even non-English students :P
