Student Centre Changes

From the notice on the portal:

Quote
From the start of Semester 2, the "home" Student Centre is changing for a number of students whose courses were previously managed by the Eastern Precinct Student Centre (EPSC).

BIOMEDICINE STUDENTS: your new home Student Centre will be the Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences Student Centre in the Brownless Biomedical Library.

ENGINEERING STUDENTS: your new home Student Centre will be the Melbourne School of Engineering Student Centre in the Engineering building.

ENVIRONMENTS STUDENTS: your new home Student Centre will be the Environments and Design Student Centre in the Baldwin Spencer building.

SCIENCE STUDENTS: the EPSC will remain your home Student Centre, but will have a different name - the Science Student Centre.

If you are affected by these changes, please note that you should go to your new Student Centre from the commencement of Semester 2 to access the services you have previously been receiving from the EPSC.

Please be assured that Student Centre staff in all of these locations are working to ensure that services are not disrupted in the transition, and that all student queries are addressed.

Neil Robinson, Executive Director (Student Services) and Academic Registrar

If I remember correctly, didn't they merge all the student centres two (I think?) years ago?  Now they are splitting them up again?

^ True Story. The line to get an enquiry at the start of the year was ridiculous.

That's what I thought as well.  Maybe this is a sign that they will disband 13 MELB?

I've never called the number before, but what's it like?  Ridiculous waiting times like EPSC?

Even more ridiculous. It stays open until like 8pm at the busy times though right? So I guess that's a plus. Maybe they can just split up the lines and keep them open till 8pm :D

I don't think that the phone waiting time is that bad

13 MELB is bad. Yuck yuck yuck.
You always have to hold and on average it's about 5 minutes too.
I have called about 3 or 4 times and twice I had to wait more than 10 minutes...

haha, I have to sometimes call centrelink and they make you wait on average between 35-45mins!! Therefore from that experience waiting 5 mins is like heaven!

Okay.... wow. o.O
I had considered the possibility that the hold line for 13 MELB may not be that bad but I didn't think it would be THAT much worse...

When you have vodafone as your service provider, ANY wait time seems like heaven.
