Starting year 11 Chemistry?

Hello everyone, I'm currently in year 10 and studying chemistry in term 3. Although I haven't excelled in chemistry in my earlier years of high school, I've started to taking a real interest in chemistry and wanting to do it in vce. I was wondering if year 11 chemistry introduces the basics and goes through stuff you've learnt in the past e.g periodic table. I feel I don't want to struggle in chemistry, and is it possible for myself to pick up the concepts quickly if I put in the effort?

Yeah, you really don't need any background knowledge for VCE Chem :)

Edit: One of the first topics is the periodic table

I pretty much only started learning stuff for Chem at the start of year 12. It's the kind of 3/4 subject where if you have an interest (which I did) and you work your ass off from the get-go (which I definitely did) you'll pick up all the background knowledge that you need along the way.

I recommend chemguide.co.uk for some light reading, brilliant resource.
