Equivalent of UoM's BBiomed?

"nay"

There is way too much overlap and you'll probs be forced to do units you're not interested in just to get both degrees.

Personally, my back-up was BiomedSci/Engi(chemical) @ Monash (clayton). Why? Because if I was unable to get into grad med somewhere, I would still have a degree that would get me a job that I'd enjoy (ie. the engineering part). Personally, I'm not too keen on research for the rest of my life, so Biomed or Science by themselves wouldn't be too nice.

My other thought was doing Sci @ UoM and then if I didn't get into grad med I'd do a Master of Engineering :)

To sum up, good to have back-up options, but good to also realise where those options will leave you if things don't go your way.

IMO, nay, as per VegemitePi. It lacks flexibility and doesn't give you anything a standard science degree can.

The exception would be if you had a specific career pathway in mind that would benefit from the double-degree - for instance one student I knew was doing BBiomed/BSci(Physics) in order to qualify for the 5-year medical physicist training program.

it's all in the name kid.

What's in a name?

paulsterio:
'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!

What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;

So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,
And for that name which is no part of thee
Take all myself.
