Magnetic Field

If a wire is shorter would the magnetic field generated by the current be weaker, and so the compass needle would deflect less if placed in the field?

Also, if the current is much higher through a wire would the magnetic field generated be stronger and so the compass needle would deflect more in the field?

I know the relationship F=BIL but is it the Force that actually determines how far the compass needle will deflect or the actual B value, the strength of the magnetic field around the wire.

Remember that for there to be a force there has to be two or magnetic fields. I am not completely sure but I don't think increasing the length of a wire will cause an increase in magnetic field strength. It will rather cause an increase in force applied over a distane. for example if we have two wires with length of 2m with current flowing, the force they will have on each other would be greater compared to the force two wires with length 1m will have on each other. Stronger current should give stronger magnetic field as we know that emf=IR=n*change flux/change time. we know flux = BA hence IR=ndelta(BA)/delta(t). so if we increase current we should get a bigger magnetic field. I'm not 100% sure if I am right but these are just my thoughts.
