Is doing checkpoint questions the same as doing past exam papers?
Or would it be more beneficial if I acctually started exam papers staright away?

Checkpoints are just old vcaa papers you can get them for free online.
Just start with past exam papers and have a book where you write down every single mistake you make.

I bought checkpoints and they seriously are a waste of money. Often the formatting screws up which means you get the wrong answer. While the questions are quite good, you can get them online for free.

If you are interested in purchasing a study guide, I can vouch for A+ Notes for Further. The questions tend to be on the more difficult side and they have worked solutions. However, at this time of year, you would probably benefit more from trial exams. You're probably near finishing the course now, so it's good to start getting used to answering to time constraints and having to skip through the modules you're not doing (this is a new experience).

I've decided I'm just going to do trials. And I'm going to start them from this week.
Thanks for the advice (:
