I think, being a guy especially, these sorts of things will happen and there are always times where you feel the desire to punch someone, either in self-defence or because you're pissed off. In all honesty though, you can resolve most things by words. If the other party doesn't agree then obviously do the safe thing and leave, which is what I'd do - don't worry if other people call you a chicken or whatever, it's always safety first, not just your own, but that of others too.

Anyway, even though I've never been involved in a physical fight (I've avoided some by pacifying and I've been punched in the stomach once by this guy when I was in Year 11 - but nothing serious), I've witnessed a fight where someone had to be hospitalised, but this is pretty much a gang thing where tension has been boiling for a while, not a one-on-one kinda thing.

On the note of witnessing fights, two parties I was at last year come to mind.

1) Was in the western suburbs with my cousin and his large group of friends. There was a party so we all went. Group of 15-20 ethnics, islanders, Sudanese people etc walking in, now that I think about it, wasn't a great idea to walk in all together. Looked like we wanted trouble.

Anyways, one thing led to another and we're all on the dance floor. I started dancing with this girl and she started dancing with me, holding me and stuff. All of a sudden, this huge guy pushed me in the back of my head with all of his might. Turns out it was his girlfriend.

I didn't say or do anything, didn't plan on doing anything except apologising, I wouldn't have gone near her if I knew she was single. B**** didn't say anything either :/

Cousin smacked him up though and then his friends jumped in then my cousins friends jumped in. Wasn't pretty. I cracked it at my cousin afterwards.

2) I witnessed a random guy get bottled at another party. Was shocking and everyone started sprinting away. He dropped to the ground after being bottled and I guess the impact to his head caused him to become unconscious. Huge laceration to his forehead to the side of his head. Quickly checked his pulse and luckily he was breathing. Called an ambulance and they took him away, cops came too, asked me what I saw etc.

Fighting/violence is terrible to witness.

Attacking someone with what is probably one of your most sensitive body parts? Not a good idea.
Lol... Forehead to face contact. Doesn't seem too sensitive to me.

Casey Hynes; good on him.

Far out. Prior to 2012 there was a fight every other week at my school lol.

Your forehead is quite strong, you're right. Hitting someone's face with your face is a no no, because you expose too much.

One quick chop to the neck and best of luck for your breathing.

Also, unless you're already a few centimeters away from their face, they could easily kick/punch you before you get anywhere near head butting them.

Any idiot can swing his fists around.

Looks much better when you tornado kick or spinning back kick in the face, knocking them out cold when they're charging at you. This way, you also keep your distance and take care of them before they can touch you.

Or seemingly effortlessly flipping someone over with their own momentum before putting them in a neck lock and watching them go purple until they tap out, putting them in danger of having their esophagus crushed or passing out. You can't just expect them to tap out, though. Should probably say something like "Chill out and I'll let you go, bro. Tap when you're ready". Squeeze for a split second longer then let go.

i wish i was as cool as u
It's really not that hard to quantify..., but I believe that being raped once is not as bad as being raped five times, even if the one rape was by a gang of people.

Hahah, it's highly effective when someone decides to be tough and put his face to your face though, forehead to nose and he'll be down :P LOL!

Only derelicts do the whole face to face "what the f*** did you say bro!?!?!?" thing where they're almost kissing. Lol.

I think Paul was referring to headbutting rather than the quoted mating ritual.

I once had to fight off 5 guys that came to school at random. they had knives and tasers (which they put into their pockets before fight) I was able to hold them off for a bit but I then got surrounded from every direction. Luckily a teacher came and they all ran away while I was still standing.

Wow. That's insane. I'm glad to hear that you weren't hurt. We're they after you specifically..? If yes, do you mind if I ask why?

Omg, sighs, I really hate it when relationships end and it's not cordial between the two sides, then and again, it's hard to make things friendly, but do we really have to become violent with eachother - like yelling, screaming and wanting to punch, kick or smack? For example, with me and my ex, sure we're not tight these days, but we don't fight, I guess we're distant friends more than anything, but still - pacifying is the best :)
